These IB PYP provocation starter cards are designed to guide and provoke curiosity, inviting engagement and inspiring wonder in the children as you are building their questioning skills and developing inquirers. Conceptual learning begins by understanding concept-based questions. These cards are ideal for developing understanding of the IB PYP Specified Concepts as well as helping children to focus their thinking and develop higher level questioning skills.

They can be used by the teacher or the children - perfect for tuning into any inquiry and also guiding reflection activities too.

The cards are suitable for Grades K-2. You can also find a set for BIG kids here. Each card contains sentence stems for guiding the children’s thinking and structuring their questioning as they formulate their own questions with absolutely ANY inquiry.

Included:

•A set of 7 full size specified concept question stems posters to place on tables or post on the wall to guide specific conceptual questions, to support formulating questions.

•A set of 7 handy task card sizes for the specified concepts that can be kept in desks for individual reference tools or as a group reference tool.

•A set of 19 general provocation prompts cards to use with ANY inquiry.

Easy to print and keep in a box or a ring on table groups. I prefer to give each child their own set that they keep in their desks for easy access to use at ANY time and for ANY subject. I have seen children referring to the cards for formative assessments and reflections, for setting goals, for developing their own lines of inquiries as well as within literacy and maths. Perfect for collaborative thinking activities and encouraging accountable talk within discussions.
