IB PYP Learner Profile - Guess the Attributes Bingo Activity
Bingo! Three fun, engaging activities that incorporate the language of the IB PYP Learner Profile with practice of reading comprehension strategies, thinking, social and communication skills. This is an ideal literacy centers activity or for small guided groups in 3rd -6th grades. Complete with task cards and self reflection and assessment sheets, student agency is encouraged.
1.You will find the bingo boards can be used as a traditional game of bingo, where the children take turns reading the text cards and they have to infer the Learner Profile attributes being used by the character in the text. Designed as aa collaborative activity, it involves a lot of group discussion, where the academic language just cant help but be used over and over. The winner can have a completed row, column or full house.
2.The second game is similar to the card game Snap!, where the children have to match attributes and characters’ traits from the text.
3.The third game is similar to the game of Memory. The attribute cards and the text cards shall be shuffled together and placed face down in a matrix. Each player will take turns turning over two cards. The object is to match a text card with a Learner Profile attribute card. The winner will have the most matching pairs at the end.
