When it comes to the IB PYP Learner Profile, the goal is to help your students to understand that being knowledgeable about the Learner Profile is not just about listing off the attributes but also about how they use, share, and apply these attributes in various meaningful ways. These activity charts, 5 Ways to Apply the Attributes charts were designed to be use as a collaborative way for your students to reflect upon each attribute and then to record their ideas as to how each attribute can be put into action.
These Learner Profile charts allow for your students’ voice to shine through and provide an authentic and meaningful reference tool to use over the course of the school year. Win-win!
By creating a chart using numbers to structure different actions and behaviours can help your students to better understand and practice the attributes of a learner in connection with inquiry-based learning. Here are a few suggestions for integrating these Learner Profile charts:

Using the Chart
•Daily Practice: Encourage students to choose a different number each day and practice the corresponding ways to apply the attributes.
•Classroom Display: Create a large version of this chart to display in the classroom as a community created reference.
•Incorporate into Lessons: Integrate these behaviours into daily lessons and activities to reinforce the habit of living the Learner Profile through the actions of the attributes.
•Acknowledgement System: Implement a system where students earn acknowledge their actions and track and monitor their actions as they demonstrate these behaviours.
