IB PYP Assessing Concepts - This or That Exit Slips

Assessment within the IB PYP is a continual process, diverse and adaptive, focusing on identifying what students know, understand, can do, and feel at different stages of their learning journey. These exit slips are designed to provide students with fun and creative ways to reflect upon and showcase their learning after any inquiry or learning experience. With a focus on conceptual understanding through the lens of the IB PYP specified concepts, you will absolutely find an exit slip that connects with ANY theme, ANY discipline and ANY inquiry.

How to Use This or That Exit Slips

Each exit slip or ticket out the door includes 2 choices for students to demonstrate and reflect upon  their learning. They’ll have the chance to select the prompt that most inspires them. After reviewing each option, students can choose to do the “This” exit slip reflection or the “That”  reflection. Both will require students to think critically & creatively, evaluating their learning experience and progress of their understanding of the concepts.  By offering choices, we promote more engagement for students and provide instant differentiation, accommodating multiple learning styles so that students have more opportunities to be successful.

With over 50 exit slips and a total of 36 different tasks, students will have the opportunity to show their learning in new and unique ways.
